Lists like this work best as a gateway to great authors, so my quick edit would tighten up Hemmingway & Dickens, and 86 Rand to make way for, say, Princess Bride by Goldman, Stranger in a Strange Land to include Heinlein, Like Water for Chocolate for Esquivel. Brin's Uplift series would replace the Dune saga. I'd go on, but clearly I have more reading to do. And writing.
