My subtitle, on the other hand, would read: To write my version of soft scifi I had to venture deeply into wealth imbalance and psychopathy, ancient mythology, asteroid geology, environmentalism and dolphins. I agree that the real challenge is to craft a gripping story beyond facts and theories (especially my more hair-brained ones).
