I didn't need to reproduce to be certain I would make a crappy parent. Many times I've experienced the terrible, high pitched screaming of an un-abused child pitching a fit in public. I can leave... and do. (More difficult on planes.) Like Jan, I'm a boomer with no regrets. So are both my siblings who likewise had poor role models for parenting.
