Ideas: The Easy Part of a Creative Vocation — Pilgrimage to the Source pg221
Colorful companion to my memoir The Incompetent Psychic
We went home to the flawlessly renovated stone chateau loaner. It was three stories of original art, stunning art deco furnishings and a friendly maid. I got the downstairs apartment complete with a computer, and pitied the poor souls staying at the Ritz. The next morning Katie showed me how to navigate the Metro and we rode into Paris. A trio of musicians jumped on our train at the next stop, and proved that there is indeed an appropriate time and place for accordion music. Katie was glad I enjoyed the entertainment as (she jokingly claimed) she had spent some time online that morning arranging it.
I bought a three-day museum pass, which allowed us to bypass waiting in long lines. We started with Italian Renaissance in the Louvre and got all the way to Goya before hunger and image saturation forced us to have lunch at a café overlooking the Seine. — From Chapter 12
The first sketches I did in the Louvre were seeds of an idea that eventually bore happy little trees of fruit. Ideas are wonderful things. I just ate up the whole morning cruising Talks at Google on YouTube surfing for tips on how my some favorite and funny thinkers come up with theirs.
