I've always wanted to see what James Cameron could do with David Brin's Uplift War or Startide Rising. And please oh gods can we get stories set in more utopian societies? Much as I loved Blade Runner, by now dystopia has been done to death. Start with James P. Hogan's Voyage from Yesteryear, then graduate to Becky Chamber's Wayfarer series. I want me some Small Angry Planet on the big screen. I want more hope for all of us.
