Winter Solstice 1993

All the same disaster cards landed back face up.

Years later Bette recalled that moment. “I never gave ‘negative’ tarot readings. Even the more cautionary cards were opportunities to suggest greater awareness, growth and a message of hope. When I saw this second spread I prayed with all my heart for guidance to convey this dire warning by simply being an effective channel.” Bette put her finger on a card and suggested, “Look at this picture and tell me what you see.” It showed a hooded figure weeping over spilt goblets of wine, while a stone castle crumbled in the background.

I pondered for a moment then asked in a small voice, “Could it be my drinking?” — From Chapter 9

A friend is embarking on a daily sketching project to get more joy in her life. She posted on Facebook to ask if there was a possible business opportunity with this project? I replied: Great goal! I might suggest you not include ‘business applications’ as part of your process. Keep good records of your work/play for now. That’s easy in this century. At some point in the future a venture will manifest. You have no idea what that will be yet, so let your imagination loose.
