“Sure there are much happier and more highly evolved planets where logic and love prevail. But hey, Earth is more interesting and comfortable than it’s been since Atlantis. Agreements are in place to meet, offer assistance, ask for help and have fun… to say nothing about the karma owed. Besides, this life I’ve planned is the best yet.” — from Chapter 1

My memoir begins before the beginning. While waiting for my spirit guides to show up for the final planning session of this incarnation, I try to decide if I really did want another life on Earth after all. There’s no penalty for cancelling a reservation on this planet, other than not being able to publish a memoir about it.

This portrait of a friend in the Italianate garden pavilion at Bard College on the Hudson River captured that feeling of contemplation in a place out of time.
