We Don’t Have to Reincarnate — Transition Sector pg14
a colorful companion to my memoir The Incompetent Psychic
“Visiting Planet Earth from the light is entirely voluntary. Anyone can choose to evolve at a slower, statelier pace in Celestial comfort and safety. We’re talking eternity after all. Ah, but a trip to Earth with all those sensations in a human body. I kept being drawn to that heavier, more dramatically emotive dimension.” — from Chapter 1
This painting of Saint George and the dragon captures that strange compulsion to incarnate on a dangerous planet to try to fight the good fight. Planet Earth is about as risky as it gets. You and I are reincarnation overachievers to even be here.
Carlo Crivelli originally painted Saint George Slaying the Dragon in 1470. It currently hangs in the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum in Boston, MA. I did an initial sketch of it during a trip there in 2010, and painted my own version in watercolor with a fanciful painted frame; one of 300 small works in a series interpreting art history.
Feeling a little sorry for the doomed dragon, I left out a spear that was impaling him in the original painting. It was overkill.
