Colorful companion to my memoir The Incompetent Psychic
Petals is a delightful cafe that overlooks sweeping lawns. Next door is Dog Bodies, where generous spirit guides heading to Earth as companions for their friends can test drive various sizes and shapes from a thousand options. Doggies romp across a rolling, grassy park and often wander through the cafe to ask the human-shaped spirits for helpful tips about function and appearance. Most cafe patrons had taken turns as canines for their earthbound buddies, and were happy to advise. Some just find the place highly amusing since the dogs can talk. — From Chapter 15
Maybe there’s another part of paradise for cats who become earthbound helpers, but dogs have always shown up for me. Different doggies have healed my heart so many times with love so patient and generous it has to be miraculous.
How do miracles happen? My best theory states miracles are planned by girlfriends in a lovely cafe among pink blooming cherry trees. The idea for this interlude to explore how and why we are sometimes blessed with spirit dogs came to me while hugging a chihuahua, so it must be true. Muses come in all forms… many with four legs, a tail and the telepathy of dog love.
